RMSS joins the Association of Self Insured Employers of Queensland

Date: 27.01.11 - Thursday

RMSS is pleased to announce that it has joined the Association of Self Insured Employers of Queensland (ASIEQ) as an Associate Member.

Members of the Association include some of Queensland's largest employers who have elected to provide their own Accident Insurance under a Self Insurance License.

“In short, self insurance allows an employer, under a license, to provide their own accident insurance for their workers instead of insuring with Work Cover. Our constitutional objectives are focused towards the promotion of Employer Based Injury Management as it is believed that better outcomes will be achieved through employers implementing more structured approaches to injury management at the workplace,” said Bill Nevin, Chairperson, ASIEQ.

“As a provider of integrated Enterprise Risk Intelligence solutions, RMSS recognises the value of creating a workplace that takes a more structured self management approach to injury management and health and safety systems and strives to create an organisational culture characterised by this. We look forward to fostering an effective relationship with ASIEQ to share key knowledge and information as well as present our solutions to ASIEQ Members, “said Andrew Howarth, CEO RMSS.

About the Asssociation of Self Insured Employers of Queensland (ASIEQ)

The Association was formed in 1998 following the granting of the first self-insurance licenses in Queensland. At that time there were 3 licensed self-insurers and a number of companies who had submitted license applications. The Association changed its title in 2008 during the 10th Anniversary of Self Insurance in Queensland. Our members believe the current title better reflects our position that ASIEQ is an Employer Association and that Self Insurance has broader implications than just Worker's Compensation issues. Today ASIEQ, an incorporated Association, has all 23 licensed Queensland self insurers' as members as well as another major employer and 15 Associate Members. Members cover 282 employers in Queensland who collectively employ more than 176,000 Queenslanders. These organisations are some of the largest organisations in the State. ASIEQ now accepts full membership from Employers who employ more than 1000 Queensland workers and have also extended the Associate membership to include providers working in the field of Medical Health, Safety or Injury Management. About RMSS

RMSS offers Enterprise Risk Intelligence solutions that integrate risk, compliance, events and claims management at an enterprise level. RMSS’ claims management offering streamlines an enterprise-wide safety process, including both injury and risk management. The claimsmanager links an organisation’s claims management to a risk-based approach, reducing risks and potential costs associated with managing work-related claims. This is of particular interest to organisations that operate nationally and/or internationally, are self-insured, or seeking self-insurance status. It can be used as a complete injury management and general claim liability solution to ensure that remedial obligations are followed up, including payments and incident reporting requirements.
